True or False?

This video is one of a girl's "vlog" on losing thirty pounds. She wants to lose weight to become a model and is 5'8" and wants to weigh 90 pounds. 90 POUNDS! That is in no way healthy, and she is doing it on youtube.com and asking for the support of viewers. You can even subscribe to her vlogs and keep up with her weight loss. It is called "Watch Me Disappear-My Journey to a Size 0." How ridiculous is that? She admits to having an eating disorder that she physically recovered from, but not mentally. She wishes that she never recovered and is willingly relapsing. What do you think of her video? On the sidebar to the right there are more links to her later videos. I think she is sick and needs some serious psychological help, and soon, before she kills herself. How do girls get this way? What makes them feel that they have to weigh 90 pounds? I believe the blame should be put onto the fashion industry and the media. What do you think?

What could possibly possess someone to pose half-naked pictures of themselves/videos of themselves online for everybody to view them? Especially when you're not comfortable with your body as it is. It seems like this girl is just dying for attention, and she needs it- like professional attention. 5'8" and 90 pounds? Yeah, that's not quite healthy...

AHHHH! That's awful. Eating disorders are not just body disorders - they're mental disorders. She wants reinforcement from people about her body - positive or negative - because she is obsessed with how she looks and what kinds of flaws she can find. She wants people to say oh honey, you're fine, so she'll feel a little better, but also people to say she's fat so she can justify her problem. It's not always the media's fault. Jessie, why don't you look into enmeshed families? There's a high proportion of eating disorders in daughters of parents who seem to control their lives. THe parents tell them when they're hungry, how they feel, when to do things, rather than letting the child decide his/herself. So they develop some way to control something in their life.

Her video makes me sad, sad that when she looks at herself in the mirror all she sees are her own imperfections, we all do. She doesn’t like her little tummy and she things her complexion needs to change. Professional help would be needed in this case, because eating disorders are more than just physical they’re also mental diseases. Which is still why she wasn’t to loose the weight even after overcoming the eating disorder physically. Looking into what Cathy posted about parental influences would be interesting to dig up. I see there are a lot of other related posts similar to this one on youtube, I can’t imagine the numbers of girls who suffer through this and don’t vlog.
